Blueberries
We started growing blueberries in 2012
It began with an impulse mail-order purchase in 2012.
Admittedly, we were disappointed that they arrived as tiny lifeless sticks, but we did our best to get them into the ground according to the instructions and were rewarded with a few berries that first summer. We were hooked.
Those first few plants suffered through careless abuse during the first two years ... trampled by dogs, kids, not weeded, not always carefully watered ... but still they gave us berries ...
In 2014, we decided to transplant them into whiskey barrels and our blueberry patch is now thriving as a container garden.
Now we're up to 12 barrels!
