So, who am I?
I'm a fourty-something young (sometimes not-so-young!) mom of two wonderful boys: a mellow sixteen year old and a rambunctious seven year old.
After nineteen years of working as a pediatric Registered Nurse, and with the loving support of my family, I decided to leave the field to become a bonified stay-at-home mom.
I've always loved the arts, having painted, sketched and dabbled in pretty much anything artistic that would peak my interest for as long as I can remember. My artistic pursuits slid to the back-burner at the beginning of my nursing career and nearly disappeared with the emergence of my young family.
My letter of resignation, leaving my only professional identity, was my impetuous for creating Casual Clicks. With no clue of where it would go or what to do with it, it became -- simply because it was mine.
My formal education is firmly centered in the biological sciences. I took advantage of a unique five-year joint program involving St. Lawrence University and Columbia University and in 1987, I graduated from both schools with two baccalaureate degrees: one in biology and one in nursing.
I have no formal artistic training, or training in computer programming, having learned my various mediums from books, magazines, an occasional online course and most fun of all, simple trial and error. So everything that you see here on this website is self-taught. I also have no business training, (and admittedly, am still struggling with how to manage this transition from hobby to business with my little venture...!)
Regardless, I love staying home with my children and I love that I've found an outlet for my artsy pursuits.
