Widgets & Other Utilities

Little utility programs (with screen shots of my settings) used around this site. This link is mostly for my own reference (because I keep forgetting the settings! --saves a few steps when I update my site to just have them here...)

PictoBrowser

I used PictoBrowser as the slideshow application for showing various photos throughout my web pages. It's a free web application and links directly to a Flikr account so images can be effortlessly added.

The left screenshot are my gallery settings

The right screenshot are my Sophie settings--(I changed my image alignment to the "TOP" settting--just haven't gotten around to updatiny the screenshot...)

.

SpringWidgets

I used SpringWidgets to show rss feeds in my store and links pages. It's a fully customizable free web application and links directly to any rss feed, allowing me to have them seamlessly integrate with my site. With this little application, my website shows the prints that I currently offer for online printing in my Imagekind Gallery. I use this application for the RSS feeds on my Links page.

The settings that I use on my site's SpringWidgets:

Size for the RSS feeds: 500w x 175h

Border Color: 204, 204, 255 (ccccff)

Go to this SpringWidget page for a customizable template. It's a little different from when I posted the images below... (nothing stays the same on the web these days...) but when you click on the green box to get the code, you'll see a black box with tons of icons pop into your customized widget. Simply click on the form of the code that you want and SpringWidgets will generate the properly forrmatted code to insert into your page... (I use HTML...)

Just a little note: The image above is a composite of 3 screenshots and done with Ultrasnap Pro. Could I have done this in Photoshop? Absolutely! (But this took about 15 minutes from screenshot to web and I didn't have to swap between programs...!) Ultrasnap Pro doesn't come close to Photoshop in composite capabilites, but it is indeed a workhorse for those times when all you need are a few screenshots and maybe some quickie enhancements... Awesome program!
