World of Warcraft: Love this game! Decided to try it because I wanted to see for myself what my son was playing. Got hooked. What more is there to say! (Except that it is indeed a lot of fun...)

Once I leveled my main character to 70, I started looking for more efficient  (and legal) ways to level. Found tons of guides-- some free, some not free.

I really like leveling with a guide--I don't think it's cheating and when I'm in the mood to just get lost on WoW-land, I enjoy mindlessly meandering along a set path. A good guidebook fits the bill.

I'd recommend visiting Spugnort's World and poking around there. They have both free and paid guides and though I can't vouch for anything through level 80, their freebies are certainly terrific resoures. My next guide will be coming from them!

OK--so now that I have a couple of high level toons--here's an update on my guide perspective... (Aug 2009)

I loved Brian Kopp's guide and when Wrath was released, decided to purchase his 70-80 guide. I also decided to install the in-game add-on... (wish I had done that sooner...) The in-game add-on is wonderful! It keeps track of where all of your characters are and is easy to toggle on & off, when you don't feel like using it.

That all being said, when I got half-way through level 79, Kopp's guide simply stopped with a message similar to this: This was where the beta ended so I can't help you from here... if you're not 80 by now, you should be close, so keep questing and you'll get there in no time! Happy questing!

Friendly enough, but I was disappointed. I went to Brian Kopp's site and downloaded a fresh add, (once you've paid for it, you don't need to pay to re-download...) thinking that perhaps he had made some updates since the Wrath release... nope... I was on my own. Level 80 did come pretty quickly, but for those WoW sessions, I was in my mindless meandering mood and was really looking forward to just wandering along with my friendly guide... Bummer.

So do I still recommend Kopp's guides? No, not anymore. I recently rolled a new alt and found that the in-game add-on doesn't support lower levels, as it once did. So it would appear that either the in-game add-on is broken and he's no longer supporting it or that I'm doing something wrong, (which very well might be the case...). Word out on the web is that he's not supporting his guide any longer... It would seem to me that if he were supporting it, he would have updated the Wrath module by now...

If you're looking for an alliance guide, I'd suggest using the Spugnort's link above, but if you're still interested in Brian Kopp's Guide, here's a link:

Most of my toons are Alliance, but I did roll a few Hoardies; and though I haven't played any of them into the high levels, I've been happy with this guide so far:
